a moment of hope

I watched part of the DNC last night, I saw the beginning, did some work and tuned in again and saw the ending. I have to admit, just for a moment, I felt truly inspired. I haven't felt that way about politics since I was a little kid.  Which is also the last time I believed anything that came out of a politicians mouth.

After it was over I was tidying up my little apartment and actually found myself thinking about politics - seriously - for the first time in years. I couldn't help but feel hopeful for a little while and found myself thinking "wouldn't it be phenomenal if that were true, if what they said, could actually come to fruition? Could we really come together as a nation, work smarter to find better solutions for the people now and our future generations? Wouldn't it be amazing if we did?" jobs back in our country, alternative fuel resources, better healthcare, education and economy... for once not feeling like our future is on shaky ground in so many areas.  It seems almost possible..."

I shook my head and was back to reality in a few seconds. I've thought that way before, like so many others, only to be disappointed, disillusioned and downright jaded.

If it happens, even half of what they promise or attempt to accomplish, I'll be so happy, for the future of our country, our economy and most of all our people.

But - all I'll allow myself to say or think right now is

we'll see...
