Last week I defended my grad school thesis at Johns Hopkins University. My topic was network television news coverage of food and health over 5 years - 2003-2007. There were some interesting outcomes of the study, including that doctors were only used as "experts" in 10% of the broadcasts. Dietitians were even less popular, appearing in 7% of network news stories. Mind you, these were stories about FOOD that had HEALTH in the context of the story.
