Health Care Issues

This past weekend was our three day convention.  I missed one day of it.  My back did not like it.  The two days we did attend I took about 15 pages of notes front and back.  I learned a lot.  Today I got a call from my oldest daughter.  Her son is running a high fever.  She took him to the doc and they said he had pnemonia and since he has asthma needed to go to the hospital.  They drove the hour to the hosptial only to still be setting in the ER waiting.  This got me to thinking about how poor our medical systems truly are.  read more »

Rabid Sanity Tackles Health Care

In an exchange I had with Steve at Rabid Sanity regarding health care, he referred me to two articles that take issue with the current low ranking by World Health Organization of the United States' health care system against other industrialized countries. We're 37th. The two articles dispute the rankings, saying they are biased in favor or state-run systems. Our system is not "perfect" one admits, but is probably the best in the world.  read more »

holy cross gives germantown its blessing

Officials at Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring are planning to build a new facility in Germantown and make new investments in its current hospital to expand its network of community-based primary care health care centers.

The new hospital's location - on the Germantown Campus of Montgomery College - will enable a large number of patients to seek care closer to home.  read more »

My Thoughts on IVF
