Talking about Policies -- Day 2

Since I have to attend a MoveOn.Org party for listening to Obama's acceptance speech, I will make this an easy topic where much research is not required.  Remember this is not examining how either candidate plans to get it done, but what are they proposing.  Today's topic will be Health Care.

Start Your Health Care Jobs Search Here!

Hello, welcome to my little corner of the web! Today, I'm featuring an article about the general state of the healthcare industry in the United States. This is not a top-to-bottom review of the entire industry, but it will give you an overview, and should give anyone looking for health care jobs a head start on the rest of the pack!  read more »

ONYD - Uninsured? What Uninsured?

John Goodman -- not the actor, but the president of something called the National Center for Policy Analysis and a policy advisor for the McCain campaign -- says that since everyone in the country has access to emergency rooms, no one is technically uninsured, so the Census Bureau should stop describe anyone as uninsured.

(the lack of link is deliberate; I don't like to link to things I don't recommend.  If you are curious, there is this thing called Google that can probably get you where you want to go.)  read more »

IQ Determines PTSD ?

As I scanned through some old articles on a science news webpage, I found an article which, in short, stated kids with an IQ higher than 115 at the age of 6 are less likely to develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder by age 17 for reasons that are "unclear". But, ironically enough, the children teachers said didn't have good conduct patterns had a higher risk of being exposed to violence, rape, beatings, and so forth. What's more is these children also are the ones that have a higher risk of having anxiety disorders and are more likely to develop PTSD by age 17.  read more »

And there is one person who can do something about it - John McCain.

Don't believe me? Well you should!
